Once again that time of year is here BBC Children in Need. It comes around so quickly! The annual telethon is tonight and, as ever, is aiming to raise more money than last year.

The charity aims to help improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. I do like watching all the amazing entertainment on throughout the evening and I am looking forward to seeing Kat and Liz  in The Queen Vic, bringing together two of the best soap characters on TV! However, I do always end up crying after seeing the horrendous video clips and it really makes you understand how lucky some of us are and how it is so important to donate to this worthwhile cause.

The 2009 Appeal raised £39 million which is amazing and hopefully there will be even more raised this year. If you think if everyone just put in £2 that would be about what? £120 million!?!

The good thing about children in Need is that every penny donated goes towards projects helping disadvantaged children in the UK. This is becuase the charity uses its investment income and Gift Aid to cover all running costs.

For more information and to donate visit: www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey/ or of course tune in to BBC One from 7pm!

On the show tonight we are promised soap stars galore (of course), performances from JLS, Take That, Cheryl Cole, Alexandra Burke, Westlife, The Script, The Saturdays, Petre Andre, Ellie Goulding and Maroon 5, as well as some dancing from the Strictly lot and who could miss the newsreaders throwing some shapes.
